About PCIS
The Primary Care/Community Information Systems (PCIS) Office supports the adoption and effective use of electronic medical records (EMRs) and other technology by physicians and other clinicians in primary care and community-based specialties throughout Manitoba.
Who we are
The PCIS Office team has evolved to meet provincial information technology needs. Our team includes a variety of resources focusing on:
- supporting technology adoption, implementation and optimization to support the provincial primary care strategy and provincial primary care initiatives
- linking primary care providers to provincial services that provide the right information to the right person at the right time in the right place (i.e. eChart Manitoba, eHealth_hub and MBTelehealth)
- facilitating and coordinating activities to optimize EMR use, improve data quality, and promote continuous quality improvement
- managing a provincial process for developing, releasing and validating provincial EMR requirements
