eHealth_hub

eHealth_hub is a Shared Health business service that coordinates electronic delivery of information between systems to authorized health-care providers who are using a Manitoba Certified EMR.

eHealth_hub will help:

  • Reduce the requirement for paper- and fax-based information delivery solutions.
  • Improve the ability to share timely information with point-of-care systems.
  • Reduce multiple entry of information, thereby reducing resource requirements and risk of error.

Currently, eHealth_hub enables authorized health-care providers who are using a Manitoba Certified Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to:

  • Receive delivery of electronic laboratory results from both Diagnostic Services, Shared Health and Cadham Provincial Laboratory’s Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). Note: not all Manitoba Certified EMRs offer connectivity to Cadham Lab results at this time.
  • Receive delivery of electronic diagnostic reports from Manitoba’s Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Query and import client demographics from the Manitoba Provincial Client Registry (Provincial CR).
  • Manage client enrolment and securely submit the enrolment to the Home Clinic Repository.
  • The Home Clinic Client Summary Service provides a secure method for a Home Clinic to submit enrolled patient key health information from a Certified EMR for the purpose of producing a standardized Client Summary document.
  • Query and import immunization information from Manitoba’s Public Health Information Management System (PHIMS).

As the service evolves, additional opportunities for the delivery of electronic information among source systems and recipient systems may be established and made available.

eHealth_hub includes:

  • Implementation of eHealth_hub among trusted systems.
  • Ongoing delivery of labs results and DI reports from the source system to a mailbox, where it can be retrieved and consumed by a Manitoba Certified EMR.
  • Establishment and ongoing maintenance of routing information and routing rules in collaboration with the labs results and DI reports source(s) and the recipient systems.
  • Establishment of interface between Client Registry and the recipient systems.
  • Establishment of interface between Home Clinic Repository and the recipient systems.
  • Monitoring and reporting/alerts based on agreed-upon thresholds.
  • Administration of standards and change/release management practices to ensure continued alignment and interoperability of source and recipient systems.
  • Establishment of interface between Public Health Information Management System (PHIMS) and the recipient systems.
