Everyone OUT! Safely: Understanding the Safe Egress of persons with Limited Mobility During Emergencies
Join Jim Closs (National Director at Age Safe Canada) and Dr. Tilak Dutta (Scientist at KITE Research Institute) as they discuss the safe egress of persons with limited mobility during emergencies.
Ensuring that EVERYONE OUT! is a practice of every building in the country is one of the goals of the new Accessibility Standards of Canada. Ensuring that those with limited mobility are able to be evacuated during emergencies, quickly and safely will be discussed along with the concepts around fall and injury prevention of staff that are charged with assisting those clients, patients and residents under their care. Environments that are zero-liftneed to ensure that this includes times of movement through emergencies and evacuations.
