Event Overview
On Friday, November 29, 2024 at 5:30pm we kick things off with our Conference Opening and Keynote presentation. The Keynote is entitled “If it were easy, we’d all be doing it … the value of exercise, and how to get more of it.”
Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed, PhD will present on the role of exercise across the cancer journey. Movement looks different for every body. With a focus on supporting what your movement can look like, you’ll learn about resources available to support your movement wellness, as well as some key behavioural skills that you can use – to help you lead a more active life.Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed is a Professor of Health and Exercise Psychology in the Faculty of Kinesiology; Adjunct Professor in the Department of Oncology in the Cumming School of Medicine; and Director of the Health and Wellness Lab and Thrive Centre. Dr. Culos-Reed’s research takes a transdisciplinary approach to understanding and improving the quality of life of individuals living with and beyond cancer, developing, delivering, and evaluating physical activity programs to address the physical and psychological challenges experienced throughout treatment and into survivorship. As a health behaviour change researcher, Dr. Culos-Reed is passionate about building capacity within the fitness industry to safely and effectively support individuals with cancer to live well and move more.
