Emergent Referrals

For emergent referrals, the referring clinician must contact a specific site and speak with a radiologist to inform them of the need for the exam to be done that day, and to ensure the site has capacity for the exam. Once the radiologist or site has agreed to book the patient, the requisition can be faxed directly to the site.

Due to patient safety, Shared Health Diagnostic Imaging Central Intake is not intended to distribute EMERGENT exam requests. If an exam falls within our emergent guidelines, it will be returned to you for immediate action.
