Let’s march together in Shared Pride, recognition and celebration of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community in Pride parades across the province. Pride month is an opportunity to raise voices, awareness and visibility for the community, share resources and tools while fostering a diverse and safe environment where individuals are free to express their true selves without fear or hate.

Register for the Pride Winnipeg Parade with Shared Pride!
Join us on Sunday, June 2, to celebrate members of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community – our colleagues, family members, friends and patients as we march in the Winnipeg Pride Parade.
Participants may register to march with their families, co-workers and loved ones (including friendly furry ones)!
New this year: staff are welcome to sign up their department as a team! Each department team requires a champion (team leader) to fill out the registration form who will be a point of contact to communicate pride materials to their team. Departments are encouraged to dress up together in colourful pride team spirit!

Deadline to purchase is a Shared Pride team shirt is May 17.
Shared Pride is excited to once again offer team shirts for purchase. Staff are encouraged to showcase their pride spirit by decorating their shirts with family, loved ones and with their department teams. Please review the sizing chart before selecting a shirt. To save on shipping, you may wish to choose local pick-up when checking out.

Important Pride Winnipeg Parade Day Information:
Please arrive Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m and look for a Shared Health Ambulance on Memorial Ave. Our Shared Pride team will be located Aisle A and we are parade entry number 34.
If you need assistance locating Shared Health’s walking group please go to the Admissions Tent at the corner of Memorial and Broadway for directions.
You must be at the designated area no later than 10:45 a.m., late arrivals might not be granted entry. Be sure to give yourself extra time for the commute and finding parking if needed, it will be busy!
The parade begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. but we may not start walking until closer to 11:30 a.m.
The parade route is approximately 2.4 km.
Please be sure to stay up to date on the expected weather forecast for Parade Day and prepare accordingly. Here’s a quick list of suggested items to bring with you:
- Pride shirt *or other festive attire (examples: feather boas or rainbow socks, flags, tattoos etc.)
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Sunscreen
- Pre-filled personal water bottle (water station available at the start of the route)
- Hat
- Snacks
- Backpack (as there won’t be anywhere to store your belongings)
- Any other items for the weather conditions (ie. jacket, umbrella)
Additional Information
- As a Shared Health team participant in this event please remember that you are representing our organization. As such we want to remind you to be kind and review the rules and conduct procedures below.
- If you choose to participate in festive activities after the parade please keep in mind that even on our personal time members of the public may see us as representatives of Shared Health.
- Your participation in this event is on personal time and compensatory time cannot be accrued.
Rules
- Do not throw anything to onlookers.
- Please help keep the site clean by using trash receptacles.
- Demonstrators have a right to be present on the parade route, just as we do. If, however, you feel harassed or threatened, speak to a marshal, Police officer, or to the onsite security.
- Do not confront demonstrators on your own.
- Alcoholic beverages, smoking and vaping are forbidden.
- All laws of the land must be followed.
- During the Parade, make noise, wave to onlookers, and have fun.
- Most importantly, walk proud!
Operations
- Our team must always maintain a forward motion unless we are asked to stop by a Parade Marshall. Maneuvering, sidestepping or other action is permitted provided we maintain a forward motion, consistent to the pace of the Parade.
- All components of our group must stay within our group (walk together). No one should overflow to teams ahead or after ours.
- Please respect everyone’s space.
Conduct
- No one shall conduct themselves in a manner offensive to general standards of decency or good taste.
- The Parade Director or designate reserves the right to screen all entries and exclude inappropriate items.
- In the event of inappropriate behavior, the individual/group will be removed from the parade and all fees will be forfeited.
- The Parade has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for those choosing to abuse volunteers or participants.
- Please promptly report violators to Pride Officials on route.
