KT Canada National Seminar Series: Quality of Health Care in Canada: A Systematic Review of Inappropriately Used Clinical Practices

3. Identify most overused clinical practices in Canada.

Dr. Janet Squires is a Professor in the University of Ottawa’s School of Nursing where she holds a Research Chair in Health Evidence Implementation, and a Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. She is a fellow of the Canadian and American Academies of Nursing. She is an internationally renowned researcher who has advanced the field of knowledge translation. The overall goal of her research program is to increase healthcare professionals’ use of research evidence in clinical practice to improve healthcare quality, patient outcomes and the sustainability of healthcare systems. Dr. Squires leads national and international initiatives examining the role of context in implementation, characterizing evidence-practice gaps, and developing interventions to change healthcare professionals’ behaviors. Dr. Squires collaborates with researchers, clinicians and policy makers internationally to create resources for integrating research evidence into clinical practice and policy.
