Ms. Gauthier is employed in Clinical Health Psychology (CHP)/ Shared Health as a Patient Access Coordinator. She is responsible for triaging patients to different clinics within our services. This often involves talking with distressed patients over the telephone, communicating with busy physician referral source offices, and providing education and information about healthcare resources to both. Additionally, she provides administrative support in the delivery of a number of web-based treatment programs in CHP, enrolling patients, answering questions, and problem-solving as needed. Ms. Gauthier is perceptive, notices issues before they arise, and brings them to the attention of others. Over the many years that I have had the honour of working with Ms. Gauthier, I am continually impressed by her dedication, responsibility, and integrity. Despite intense workload, often with highly distressed patients, she is always positive and professional. Feedback from patients is that she is very helpful, assisting access to mental health care. On a systems level, Ms. Gauthier’s efforts allow for a seamless and organized work environment, and increase access to health care for a large number of Manitobans every year.
