Executive Director, Provincial Wellbeing, Shared Health

Hello! I’m Susan Rabichuk. I hold a PhD in Community and Global Health and a Master of Social Work. My research examines trauma, organizational dynamics, and mental health in public safety and health systems.

My career has centred on strengthening mental health supports for both the public and those who serve them. I’ve worked across clinical, academic, and policy settings, including roles with Shared Health, the University of Manitoba, and national public safety research initiatives. As a clinician, I developed a therapeutic practice focused on first responders, public safety personnel, and Canadian Armed Forces members. Within Shared Health’s Mental Health and Addictions portfolio, I led a provincial evaluation of critical incident stress response and employee wellness supports, helping shape recommendations for sustainable programming.

I also bring experience in program evaluation, trauma-informed practice, and organizational well-being, with work spanning provincial government departments, northern and rural communities, and national research institutes. My teaching and facilitation background includes undergraduate and graduate education in community health sciences and social work, along with workshops for government, non-profit, and private sector organizations on trauma, grief, crisis response, and worker well-being.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with teams across Manitoba to support psychological health and help strengthen well-being across our system.
