We want to recognize and celebrate you, your team – and everyone working across Shared Health sites and services – with a week of Spring Spirit, April 17-21. Throughout the spirit week you are invited to participate in themed activities and challenges! Join your teammates, co-workers and other staff from across Shared Health to celebrate the end of winter with activities that are intended to promote teamwork, creativity and fun!
Get creative and share your spirit with us!
Each day will offer themed events, decoration challenges and team-building activities. Whether you work in a direct care area or are participating remotely, we encourage you to take the opportunity to share a light moment with the colleagues and co-workers who are so important to each of us. Prizes will be awarded to some of the best dressed teams, decorated workspaces and through a spirit week challenge quiz (more information below)! We look forward to seeing your spirit!

‘Seas the day’ and make it a beach day!
Dress in colourful clothing (or bright scrubs) and decorate your area in beachy themes to celebrate spring*! Working remotely? Change your MS Teams background to a tropical destination and have your team guess where it is! Add colour and fun to meals and share a favourite recipe with your team. Or put a ‘spring’ in someone’s step with a small act of generosity, a kind word or by paying it forward in the coffee line!

Superheroes assemble!
Manitoba health-care workers continue to show up and answer every call for help. The efforts you’ve made, and continue to make, to care for our community, our loved ones, and complete strangers make you a superhero! Send a thank you to a superhero on your team through our virtual gratitude wall. Decorate your unit/area and dress up like the superhero that you are*! Working remotely? Celebrate the power of sports
Sports day is a chance to bring people together through movement and team spirit! Wear your favourite jersey* OR if you’re working from home change your MS Teams background to your favourite sport or team! Find time today for movement, indoors or outdoors. If possible, go for a walk with a co-worker or call them for a chat while you move. If movement isn’t possible today, take some time to stretch at your desk using the resources below. We’re always rooting for you!

Share your team spirit with us! Send in photos (or video!) of you dressed up, your decorated department, or participating in one of our many activities!
Enter our contest by tagging us on social media: Twitter, Instagram and Facebook or submit your entries through our contest form, and you could win a $50 gift card!

Spirit Week Challenge: Fun Facts about Manitoba Quiz
Manitoba is filled with incredible multicultural communities, interesting history and fun facts that make it really stand out! How well do you know our province? Find out by trying our Fun Facts about Manitoba Quiz and you could win!
Shared Health will award a $50 gift card to one lucky winner who fills out the quiz correctly: Fun Facts about Manitoba Quiz.
Winner must be a current health-care worker at a Manitoba facility, program or service. Contest closes Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. CST
Reminders:
Throughout Spirit Week all staff must still follow Infection Prevention and Control, Personal Protective Equipment, Uniform (where applicable), Fire Codes, Physical Distancing requirements and The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). It should be noted that although we encouraging you to dress up and decorate this does not change the protocols within your area.
A reminder, all staff must comply with PHIA protocols when taking photos. Shared Health’s policy prohibits staff from taking photos of patients, PHI, or photos that identify any locations, facilities, operations, products, and posting them online.
Please remember to adhere the following IP&C protocols:
- Proper hand hygiene
- Appropriate PPE worn at all times, except when eating and drinking
- Respect maximum occupancy and physical distancing requirements
- Costumes must not interfere with patient care or uniform requirements
- Communal foods/eating must adhere to all site/SDO requirements
To socialize safely and decorate within IP&C guidelines, we will ask staff to review these documents:
