Stroke Prevention Clinic
Manitoba has two stroke prevention clinics located at Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg and the Brandon Regional Health Center in Brandon that provide care to all Manitobans. The clinic offers assessment and intervention for people who have experienced trans ischemic attacks (TIAs) or strokes, who have made a good recovery. The clinic provides patients with rapid assessment and diagnostic services including carotid ultrasound, CT/MRI scans, and Holter monitoring to evaluate and identify any underlying risk factors. By addressing these issues the clinics aim is to prevent future strokes and enhance long-term health.
Providers are encouraged to refer their patients to the clinic.
