Agfa Enterprise Imaging (EI) Project
Description
Digital Shared Services is undertaking a province-wide modernization of Manitoba’s Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). This project will upgrade the current Agfa RIS/PACS system to Agfa’s latest Enterprise Imaging (EI) platform across all Health Regions.
As part of this initiative, Prairie Mountain Health (PMH) will transition from its existing RIS/PACS to the provincial Agfa EI solution—bringing all facilities across Manitoba onto a single, standardized platform for diagnostic imaging.
Timeline
We will be sharing what wave each facility/region will fall under soon.
- DI Viewer Upgrade activation scheduled for fall 2025 – COMPLETED
- Wave 1 Enterprise Imaging and Enterprise Imaging Scheduling activation – Date to be confirmed.
- Wave 2 Enterprise Imaging and Enterprise Imaging Scheduling activation – Date to be confirmed.
- Wave 3 Enterprise Imaging and Enterprise Imaging Scheduling activation – Date to be confirmed.
- Wave 4 Enterprise Imaging and Enterprise Imaging Scheduling activation – Date to be confirmed.
Impacted Audiences
- All users of DI Viewer, including, but not limited to, clinicians.
- All users of RIS and PACS systems, including, but not limited to, Radiologists, Diagnostic Imaging Technologist & Sonographers, and Diagnostic Imaging Clerical Support Staff.
Impacted Systems
- Impax Xero, Impax, Impax Data Centre, and Siemens upgraded to Agfa Enterprise Imaging.
- RIS (QDOC/IPlanner), RIS Scheduling, Allscripts upgraded to Agfa Enterprise Imaging Scheduling.
- HL7 Integration with AGFA RIS, AGFA EI, & EMR system.
- Desktop Integrations with Siemens Syngo Via, Powerscribe, Penrad, Mmodal Fluency, Orthoview, Allscripts, Segami Oasis, Philips Intellispace.
- Third party software includes Rhapsody Integrated Embedded, Coridana and Looker (BI).
Anticipated Downtime
There may be a minimal amount of downtime with the activations. More details will be shared closer to go-live date.
