EMRAF
The Emergency Medicine Research Advancement Fund (EMRAF) is dedicated to supporting the development and promotion of research and academic activities within emergency medicine for our faculty and residents. Calls for applications are issued biannually, in the spring and fall.
Please note that this opportunity is exclusively available to faculty members and residents.

Year-End Celebration
The Department of Emergency Medicine’s annual Year-End Celebration is a prominent event that offers an opportunity for team members to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and recognize the outstanding individuals who contribute to our department’s success. This event also provides a special occasion to honor those who have successfully completed the FRCPC and CCFP-EM programs.

CAEP 2026 in Winnipeg
The Annual Conference of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians was held in Winnipeg from June 6 to 8, 2026. The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Manitoba and Emergency Medicine Leadership across Shared Health extends its sincere congratulations and appreciation to all physicians, trainees, allied staff, and volunteers whose contributions were instrumental in the success of CAEP26.
The conference was exceptionally well organized and successfully brought together a distinguished community of emergency medicine professionals. It provided an excellent opportunity for professional development while also highlighting Winnipeg and our local healthcare community to colleagues from across Canada.
We wish to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of Conference Chairs Dr. Tamara McColl and Dr. Tom Jelic for their exemplary leadership, vision, and dedicated efforts in organizing and executing a successful event. Their commitment played a key role in delivering a meaningful experience for all attendees.
