Recognition of Dr. Alecs Chochinov
Dr. Alecs Chochinov, Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Manitoba and an Emergency Physician at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, has submitted his retirement notice. Formerly serving as CAEP President, Department Head and Specialty Lead for Emergency Medicine in Manitoba, and Chair of the CMA Council on Education and Workforce, Dr. Chochinov has contributed significantly to numerous initiatives within the field of Emergency Medicine. We sincerely appreciate Dr. Chochinov’s dedication and valuable contributions to the profession, and wish him all the best in his retirement.
Now Open – New Emergency Department at St. Boniface Hospital
Congratulations to the Saint Boniface Hospital clinical leadership team on the opening of the upgraded Saint Boniface Emergency Department. The new ED has officially opened on October 2, 2025.
This milestone represents an important advancement in patient care, staff experience, and access to services, while also enhancing operational flexibility and increasing capacity to support more patients.
